Dr. Renier Brentjens, a 1999 Endowed LSLF Fellow at MSKCC has been involved in the development of immunotherapy for leukemias and lymphomas. Research in these diseases are stalking horses for therapeutic developments applicable to other cancers as well. As a result, immunotherapy is now being used to treat a variety of other types of cancers. These successes reinforce our belief that funding fundamental and translational research is of utmost importance. Progress takes innovation, patience, time, expertise and money. Our perseverance promises to improve the outcomes in other lethal diseases.
